Our Story

How it all started

Atomic Digital Design was created in 2012 by Antoine Vu and Gabriel Picard. At the time, they combined their expertise in cinema, animation and video games to help brands create better marketing experiences. Today Atomic Digital Design counts 50+ people and continues to grow…

2008 - 2012

Atomic creates an interactive animated show for kids called Max & Lou featuring immersive games.

BMW runs the first AR-based print ad for the launch of the Mini Cooper. The print display of the product was augmented to showcase the 3D replica of the car.

2008 - 2012

2013 - 2017

Atomic releases Potatoyz, an app for kids and wins the “Connected Object” Prize at the Paris Games Week. Atomic releases a gamified documentary about World War II using AR technology: D-Day Odyssey.

Google starts a prototype of Google Glass: a wearable in the form of an optical head-mounted display. Niantic and Nintendo launch Pokemon Go. The game uses mobile devices with GPS to locate, capture, train, and battle virtual creatures.

2013 - 2017

2018 - 2022

Atomic becomes a premium partner of Snapchat, Facebook (now Meta) and 8th Wall. Atomic signs 200+ AR projects, launches its 3D scan studio GenARation & 3D/AR web-based viewer, and partners with TikTok.

Facebook introduces Meta, a vision for a hybrid version of today’s social media in the metaverse. Youtube, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and Snapchat democratise visual commerce through AR lenses with the use of ‘Buy’ buttons and shopping integration.
